Do you counsel children, adolescents or adults?
I counsel clients of all ages. I have worked with clients ranging in age from 10 months to 65+.
Do you counsel couples and families?
Yes. I have experience counseling couples and families. I
prefer counseling small families because my office is not large enough to
accommodate a large family. I have seating for up to four people and can add
1-2 additional chairs if needed.
What are your fees?
My fee is $100 per session. However, I do offer a sliding scale for clients who may not be able to afford my full fee. Sliding scale fees range from $50-$100 based on need/income.
Do you take insurance?
I am able to accept the following insurance plans: ComPsych, Blue Shield, Anthem Blue Cross, Beacon Health Strategies and MHN. Please stay tuned as more plans become available.
What should I expect on my first appointment?
There will be some new client paperwork that we will complete together. We will get to know one another and discuss what your needs are. I will ask questions to gather information about your history and background. We will spend at least 30 minutes discussing the reasons you are seeking counseling and how you hope to benefit from participating in counseling. We will collaborate on a treatment plan including the goals you wish to accomplish through our work together.
What should I do when I arrive for my appointment?
If the door to my inner office is open, please feel free to walk right in. You will often find me at the door to greet you. If you arrive early and the inner office door is closed, please wait quietly and patiently in the waiting room. I may be finishing up a session or making a confidential phone call.
How often will I have to see you?
How often you have come to session will be decided based on your needs and goals. Most clients will need to come in once per week at the beginning of treatment. Clients who are currently experiencing significant pain and/or trauma may find it helpful to receive additional sessions such as twice per week. As therapy progresses, sessions may be reduced to every other week or to once per month, again depending upon your needs.
Is there parking at your practice?
There is a parking lot in both the front and rear of the building. The front parking lot can be accessed from both LA Ave & Galt. The front parking lot can get full so there is a secondary parking lot behind the building on Galt. Many people who drive larger vehicles prefer to use the rear parking as it affords more space.
Is the building equipped for the handicapped?
There are several handicap parking spaces in both parking lots. There is an elevator and handicap stalls in the restroom
